How to Remove/Prevent ROOT ROT Pythium – Hydrogen Peroxide(h2o2) Dunk Hydroponic System Hydroguard

#growlife #rootrot #hydrodunk
There seems to be a big debate over whether or not a hydrogen peroxide dunk (h2o2) works in the removal of root rot and long story short, it worked for me. The best way to remove it is to detect it early before it spreads and contaminates everything.

You can use hydroguard, which I was doing, but if you do not have a good way of keeping temperatures low in your water(around 65-67 degrees), you will likely suffer my same fate.

This is my first hydro grow and I went through a lot, but you could learn how I addressed my issues. I started with hydroguard, but after this experience, I converted to a sterile grow, swapping out hydroguard with hydrogen peroxide and now my plants are thriving.

  1. Also dont waste your money on Hydroguard, your being robbed. Change your nute solution every 10 days and add Hydrogen Peroxide, the Hydrogen peroxide will be gone in about 24 hours, will have killed anything bad and then you can add any microbial additives you want.

  2. I’m going to try this because I killed a plant for this very same reason but managed to get the other 3 under control but I’m going to do this right away!

  3. This truly works. It seems like using too much armor SI can definitely cover your rots to where they cant breath and it turns into sludge. I did 4 plants in separate 3 gallon hydrobuckets to experiment using under the recommended dosage in one bucket, the recommended amount in 2 buckets and doubled the amount in the 4th bucket. 3 weeks later..root rot in the 4th bucket. I used the peroxide dunk method and the roots were pristine 6 days later! Thanks Geritol! I mean How weed grow at home

  4. get some reflective insulation and wrap ur buckets , think black vs white cars in the summer and how the color alone makes a big difference .. also maybe just some small fans pointed only at ur buckets might help the water chiller , in this case think of ur CPU cooler , a fan can easily move alot of heat away

  5. okay so i accidentally put a lot more peroxide then you should into my soil, do you think my plant is going to die. it was not straight peroxide but i filled up about 1/4 of a spray bottle with it and then the other 3/4 with water and sprayed all my plants down

  6. Im hoping this comment will help some folks out who can’t control (cool) their room or water temps- the trick is to use H2O2 MORE OFTEN than what folks everywhere say to use. I use a slightly smaller amount (2ml per gallon of 34%) every other day (veg and bloom) and its the ONLY thing that has worked. Ive completely sterilized my stuff and the pythium root rot always returned. I also tried bleach (pool shock), bennies, ect… This is the ONLY thing that has worked.

  7. You saved my bacon on this one growmie I thought I was gonna have to ax one of my ladies but THIS TIP WORKED THANKS BRO

  8. I’ve never used a water chiller,,,my temps are a steady 72-74 degrees both summer n winter ,because I’ve a 10×10 small room being used inside a central heated / aired home ,,where my house says year round at 74-76 degrees depending on season ,,,I do how ever chill water during summer to 65-70 degrees before using it and refill with chilled 65 degree water
( keeping 12 -20oz plastic soda pop. Bottles frozen with water is a very inexpensive and easy way to chill water coming from tap ( it has a very low EC of 0.24 and left out over nite will drop to EC 0.16 ) chlorine is what’s left helps keeps the teeth white same with the roots at this very low dose ,,,

  9. Hey you know anything about Coco how many times can you use it I’ve been using mine eight times and now I’m getting problems is that too many times I clean it I sterilize it I have a regiment of good bacterias I even get some of that enzymes to help me break down the old decaying roots but should I use it eight times you just buy new stuff right I got hydroballs in the old stuff lot of money invested in it

  10. I have lost 5 plants in week 3 of flower. I’m a coco grower and switch to bx promix. What a nightmare each day another plant just slumps over and dies regardless od what I’m doing

  11. You detected early but what maintains The Roots maintenance what do you use to maintain the keep the root rot out

  12. Ah man, and from the legend himself. I wish I saw this 2 weeks ago😂 first time hydro, used pure coco. No h2o2, daily watering, poor res management. Learning experience to say the least

  13. Hi thx for the quick answer So my shop says 1ml per 1L is good enough my setup is 50l tank and he sayd to me Mix 1ml to 1L let the system run 1h and drop it. Can i use it till i flush? Im super scared to do something wrong and kill my plantes.? If i use it how to ? 1ml per 1l (up to 3ml max) In my Tank and let it run with nutriant solution EC=1.8 PH=5.5-6.2 is this the right way? Or do i run it for only 1h everytime i change my solution? Im just scared to try it and i could use a bit of dummy help here. What i understood was this its a good way to boost and keep your Hydrosystem clean and with 3:% food grade that is not stabilised H2O2 you cant do much wrong.
Watched this video about 20times by now i really wanna do it i hate my fear.

  14. I use Advenced Nutrients products. Unfortunately I have root rot in my rdwc system! Today I want to do what I saw in the video! When I put the plants back in after the h2o2 cure, does the small amount of h2o2 water left on the roots kill the mycobacteria in my system? I have a 75 Liter system that is about 19 gallons!

  15. Thank you so much you saved my life, but at the end you said you were converting from Bennie’s to sterile and my question is: do you have to convert back when it’s time to flower so they don’t grow buds with h2o2 water, or does it not matter?

  16. Good advice and it works. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of this subject and helping others in their green journey growing the sacred weed.

  17. I caught the bacteria right before it really started to bloom. A squirt of H202 cleared it up in 30 min.

  18. Help me out real quick! Do I ph balance the water for the dunk? I’m using tap for my hydro set up so just wanna make sure I get everything down to a T before proceeding.
