How to Prevent Algae from Growing in your Hydroponic Unit
Green Our Planet runs the largest school garden and hydroponics program in the United States. School gardens are used as natural laboratories so that students in preK-12th grade can learn about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math), nutrition and conservation through project-based learning.

I just buy covers folks make from 3-d printers on Etsy. I’m wondering if brown cuts light enough?
Maybe two layers?
Also foil reflects well.
Where are you guys? I want to learn about hydroponic system.
wowwwww! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Old McDonald had a hydroponic farm. E I E I O
Good information, but cut that intro down
wish it was that easy in my system. lol
Great for the home grower though.

Does hot water from sunlight but without the light passed through the water will cause algae?
I like your suggestion. Nice video! What are your thoughts about the best way to add nutrients to the system. after a week or two of operation. My system recommends adding nutrients after a week or so. But, they don’t give you a good method. Thanks’
Thanks for sharing this idea. ❤️ I really hate the algae.
Thank you. Our first hydorponic grow was an algae mess…LOL
Is cardboard good
hi Chris, can we use a fish tank water filter (charcoal based) to keep impurities out of our reservoir? or would it filter out the nutrients and fertilizers too?
Can you or anyone tell me what is the brownish slime on my roots and in my hydroponic reservoir, and what is the cause and what is the solution?
Wow, that’s an incredible solution. I was expecting of something filling in the water. xD
🤔
mine is on water reservoir, but great tip though
