  1. Love your videos and I’m in the process of moving to acreage so I can do this too. Just an idea with multi tap outlets you could still fill a watering can without cutting a hole in the top. 👍

  2. Hey there, great videos.
    I like them!
I would like to start a NFT system in my glasshouse.
Can you please tell me what nutrients you are using? I can’t find them.
    Greetings from Germany.

  3. Great vid! I bough an IBC couple weeks ago and got my 10×20 polytunnel covered and will be installing everything in the next couple weeks, cant wait to start growing! Really wish we could all sub twice mate and pump those numbers up for ya, you deliver such amazing content!

  4. Sir, I really appreciate your content. I’m currently attempting to build an indoors gravity-fed Kratky system for tomatoes and peppers. My goal is to use a 30-50 gallon stock tank as a reservoir and 1 or more control buckets with float valves to service multiple 5 gallon grow buckets. In order to reduce the amount of connections, I was wondering if there is a way to attach a multi tap adapter to the controller buckets? If so how could they allow me to gang and control the nutrient levels in multiple grow buckets and have the ability to shut of any single bucket for cleaning etc? Look forward to your guidance

  5. Hey Hoocho, loving your content its really answered a lot of questions for me but i have one about the gravity IBC. does the nutrient break down over time and if so how long will it last before you have to replace it in the tank if you don’t use it all in time?
    Cheers

  6. Hoocho its all coming along well looking forward to what your shed will bring, my fellow subscribers and Hoocho where are we getting our nutrients from? I’m on the Goldcoast and enquired at bunnings for the 10kg Manutec bag it was priced at $153.22 also campbells 25kg Diamond special T and 25kg Nitrocal both were around the $150 each & only sourced from up your way Hoocho and the prices seem to have skyrocketed since your episodes, Id like to buy in bulk please. Sorry for the hijack.

  7. Nice one Hoocho. 👍Got a bit confused at the start as I was sure that was set up when I visited. 🤣
Interested in seeing the flood & drain print & what it can do, as well as how you set up the shed mate.
    Cheers.🍻👍

  8. Great info especially about the varying types of IBC connections. One major concern though. Metal cladding on the IBC is great for preventing algae etc. but in full sun it’s basically a Solar Oven. I noticed yours is in permanent shade which is absolutely fine. However if used in a sunny location insulation would be required IMHO. Love the new shed! 🙂

  9. Hey Hoocho. Have you got a misting system in that green house? Hook it up to that res and I reckon you’d have a ‘fro within a fortnight.

  10. Fantastic as per usual Hoocho,
Can not wait until you start pumping some even more great content..
I have has the same idea for setting up a hydroponic tank, and this has helped heaps buddy.. Thanks for sharing…

  11. Hey man love ya setup inspired me to make a similar setup. My question is how do you stop algae from growing on the rocks?

  12. at 15:15 when you say you only have to top up the IBC once every 2 weeks – do you mean you refill the IBC with 1000 liters? Or how much? In summer it’s obviously going to be a more regular top-up than in winter.

  13. Very informative. I have been wondering about those monster beast reservoirs. Didn’t even know what they were called! Can’t put one in where I currently live, but hopefully in the future I can.

  14. Unsure how the float in reservoir tank actually connects to anything, would be great to go into a bit of detail as some knowledge seems to be presumed.

  15. Man that was some lucky balancing on the bricks, how many takes did it take 🤭, the new set up is going to be interesting 👍👍

  16. Hi Hoocho.
    Love the videos.
If we are using food grade IBCs.
You got me thinking about the hose from IBC to float valve. That really should be food grade as well. Currently I’m using normal garden hose so I will be changing my hoses.
Keep up the great work. Can’t wait to see how the studio set up goes.

  17. Thanks for the video. Nice as always. I put an additional solar pump inside the tank so it helps to circulate the water.

  18. I’ve been watching all of your videos as of late because I’m going to get into the Kratky method soon for my first. I actually have one of those water things on a water tower that I put rainwater in I’m just going to put paneling on it to prevent algae growth. Only thing I would suggest though is try to use food grade hoses. Or PVC pipe or PEX pipe if you can. I mean I don’t know if a regular garden hose can leach chemicals into your food system, but I do know they make overpriced potable water hoses.

Edit, do you not add Epsom salts to this at all?

  19. Hoocho, you and I need to talk. Don’t let leaves and debris in to the tank in the first place is a solution. The main point though is recirc. Nutrient solution in such a large volume needs daily agitation to prevent settling and possible (but not likely in a dilute solution) precipitation. Maybe get a solar pond pump to keep the liquid in motion. Or ignore me, whatevs. Take care Bud.

  20. I love your videos, full of very education and useful information🙌🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟-Staisha from Bolo Up

  21. I need on how to setup 5/6 ibcs linked together automatically topped up by pump on timer and then used by a pressure pump to 8 port irrigation system. Why as I dont want to pay $1500 for a 5KL tank when I can get IBCs for like $80 each……..
